Madigan Development, LLC (MD) is a private real estate development company founded in 2005 with the mission of providing thoughtful, innovative passion for building better buildings in the tri-state market anchored by New York City.  With a hands-on approach to managing the details of the development process from property acquisition, project finance and design, through construction and marketing the firm has built a reputation for superior quality, energy efficiency, and open book integrity.  The company is experienced in both new construction and rehabilitation, and in residential housing, commercial, retail, and office development markets.

 

With a focus on LEED implementation and urban development, the company is deeply experienced in dealing with the challenges of competitive business and regulatory environments.  Madigan Development has extensive experience working with government agencies, planning agencies, and public utilities in planning and executing complicated development projects on a broad array of properties including those that are underutilized and government-owned.

 

Madigan Development traces its development history to 1996 when its lead principal, Lou Madigan, originally proposed the development of the largest film and television production facility outside of Hollywood: the $120 million development of Steiner Studios at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.  This successful development converted the abandoned former military installation of local legend into a media landmark churning out blockbusters and employing thousands; Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, and Bono among them.

 

By leading teams, Mr. Madigan has developed more than 70 acres of land, and 2.1 million sq.ft. of buildings, with a total development value of over $600 million.  These projects include major multi-utility infrastructure expansions and implementation, multi-anchor shopping centers, officer towers, high-end condos and rentals.
